Proxies are a way for users on the internet to avoid their own web masters or DNS blockings and access content anonymously. Many people have different uses for proxies, some good and some bad. For instance, some users overseas may be behind firewalls that prevent them from accessing certain content. They can run their traffic through a proxy, a web server located somewhere far away from their home base, and access any of the content they want. While sometimes frowned upon by countries and webmasters, proxies help users access content anonymously so that their identities are kept hidden and they can access the web freely.

There are quite a few proxy websites operating in the world, but only a few of them are of any sort of quality. One of the most popular proxy sites is roxxo.net. And if that name is a little tough to remember, try ipchanged.com. Some may disagree that these sites aren’t the best proxies available, but they’re damn good at what they do. Proxies aren’t tough to operate and anyone that’s not computer savvy can manage one. Simply type in the URL you’re looking to access into the search bar on the proxy’s website and you’ll instantly be transported to that page via the proxy’s IP address. For instance, if I wanted to visit CNN.com from my home computer, I could head to BypassFirewall.org and type CNN.com into the search bar and have the page pop right up. There are some speed issues with proxies, but nothing too major that will slow your web browsing to a crawl.
